T.G.I.F!
Ugh, it’s hard to believe it has been a week since I have blogged…I have been super busy painting my house & getting it ready to have my June wedding reception!! I have my very good friend Kim to thank for her help. It was much appreciated.
So to make up for a week of not blogging, I have decided to give you four craft ideas that I did all in one day with Chalk Board Paint.
I first want to say, because this was so quick and easy, I found myself wanting to chalk board paint everything lol. Oh & believe you me, I would have 😉
So now you know why I have four crafts for you today!
My first craft was made keeping my children in mind to show them that every penny saved counts! You see, my family is very large and to be able to pick up and take off to the beach isn’t easy. It can get expensive so I feel this idea is not only cute but very educational. My husband and I have worked hard to get where we are today. Therefore, I want my children to know that earning your own money and saving it can be very rewarding.
I simply used these items you see above: A Mason jar, a piece of chalk, some twine I found at Michael’s Craft store, a paint brush and chalk board paint (found at Wal-Mart for 9 bucks.) I painted two coats of paint onto a small area of the Mason jar and let it dry. Put in our “savings”. Tied some twine around the lid, came up with a cute name and wrote it in chalk. I mean come on, so super easy right?! I did put some sea shells on top for decoration as well..
Craft number two is an old picture I found at Goodwill. It was all of 5 dollars and all I had to do is wipe it down before I painted it, let it dry and found a cute saying on Pinterest.
Craft number three is a picture frame I had lying around the house with no picture in it. I found the stand at Michael’s craft store. I then painted over the the glass, (like I did the Goodwill picture), let it dry, and wrote yet another cute saying. I thought this one was fun for my beach themed kitchen.
Finally, craft number four; this one is my favorite. I found this idea on Pinterest. I thought this was a great Mother’s Day gift. So I got to work and made one for myself (of course), my friend Kim (to thank her for her help yesterday), my wonderful mother Linda, and my awesome sister Casie.
There you have it: Fun with chalkboard paint! I really hope you enjoy this as much as I did. As always, please share 😉
